Choose your file
The download page has one button for each kind of device. Most phones and tablets need the first one.
If Android says the app is not compatible with your device, use the second button, which is for older phones. The third is for a PC that runs Android. A Chromebook gets KazaVPN from Google Play once it is listed there, which is coming soon.
Download it
Use the browser on the phone or tablet where you want KazaVPN.
- Open the download page and tap the button for your device.
- If the browser says the file might be harmful and asks whether to download it anyway, tap Download anyway.
- When the download finishes, tap Open. You can also find the file later in your Downloads.
Allow the install and open KazaVPN
Android asks once before it installs an app you downloaded in a browser.
- When Android says your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source, tap Settings.
- Turn on Allow from this source, then go back.
- Tap Install. If Google Play Protect asks to scan the app first, tap Scan app.
- Tap Open and sign in with your KazaVPN account.
You can turn Allow from this source off again afterwards. Android asks for it again only when you install an update the same way.
Check the file
This step is optional. The download page shows each file's fingerprint under Check the file: a long code that changes completely if even one character of the file is different. Android refuses a damaged file by itself. To compare the fingerprint as well, download the file on a computer and run the command for that computer below.
Windows
Get-FileHash $HOME\Downloads\kazavpn-android-*.apkMac
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/kazavpn-android-*.apkLinux
sha256sum "$(xdg-user-dir DOWNLOAD)"/kazavpn-android-*.apkIf the code it prints matches the fingerprint on the download page, copy the file to your phone and install it from there. If it does not match, delete the file and download it again.
Updating KazaVPN
When a newer version is out, KazaVPN tells you. Download the new file from the download page and install it the same way. It replaces the old version and keeps you signed in.
