Your data and your rights

You can ask to see, copy, correct, erase or move what we hold about you, or object to how we use it.

Where to send a request

Write to support@kazavpn.com. If you can, use the address on your account; if you cannot, explain that in your message. Tell us what you want to ask for; you do not need to name a law or use any particular words.

Your rights, one at a time

Download my data from your account

See what we hold about you

Write to us and ask what personal data we hold. We will review the records relevant to your request and respond within one month.

Get a copy you can keep

Ask for a copy in the same message. We will review what we hold and respond within one month. An ordinary request costs nothing.

Correct something that is wrong

Your account page holds the parts you set yourself: it turns the messages we send on or off, and it removes a device you no longer use. For anything else, starting with the address you sign in with, write to us and we correct it within one month.

Have it erased

You can delete your account from your account page. That removes its live account, device, membership and mail records. Backups and records outside the account system can remain for a time; the deletion page explains them. If you cannot sign in, contact support for help with your request.

How deleting your account works

Ask us to hold it while something is settled

If you have told us that something we hold is wrong, or you have objected and we are still weighing it, you can ask us to keep what we hold as it is and do nothing else with it until the question is settled. Write to us, and we confirm the hold within one month.

Take it to another service

Ask us for the information you provided in a format you can take to another service. We will review which records are eligible and respond within one month.

Tell us to stop

You can object to what we do with your data and say why. We stop unless we can show a reason that outweighs yours, and either way you have our answer within one month. Messages you did not ask for are the simple case: the switch on your account page, or the link at the foot of any such message, stops them at once, and a written objection to them is honoured without anything being weighed, within the same month at the latest.

Take back a choice you made

Some information is needed to run your account. You can turn off optional mail on your account page or through the link in those messages. If you want to withdraw consent for another use of your data, write to us and we will review your request. Messages needed to run your account are not affected by the optional-mail switch.

Complain about how we handled it

Tell us first if you can: write to us and we look at it again. You can also complain to the data-protection authority of the country you live in, the country you work in, or the country where you believe something went wrong, and you may do that whether or not you have come to us first.

What an access request may include

What we can provide depends on the records we still hold when we respond. It may include the following:

  • Your account details, including your sign-in address, language, creation date, verification status and preferences.
  • Details of devices you registered, including their names, device types, app versions and information needed for their connections.
  • Your current and past plan details and, where applicable, payment references or disputes. KazaVPN does not hold your card number.
  • A record that a message was sent to you: which kind, and when. It holds neither your address nor a word of what the message said.
  • Administrative records associated with your account, including actions and dates.
  • Anything you have written to us, as you wrote it, for as long as it sits in our support inbox.
  • If a device is connected when we respond, we may have temporary details about that connection. Some details may remain for a time after disconnect; our no-logs page explains what we keep.

These are examples, not an exhaustive list. The information available depends on which records still exist when we respond.

We do not keep a list of past VPN connections, not even in our backups. We do not record the sites you visit through KazaVPN, the domain names looked up through it or how much data your account moves. The one exception is the Free plan: how much data a Free account uses in the current period is counted in memory only, so the free servers stay fair, and forgotten when the period ends. We keep a protected form of your password, not the password you type. Temporary sign-in and abuse-prevention records may still exist when we respond.

How long we take

We respond within one month of receiving your request. If it is complex, or you have made several requests, we may take up to two further months and will tell you within the first month why. You can ask to delete your account from its page without waiting for an access-request response; the deletion page explains what happens next.

How we check that it is you

Before sharing or changing personal data, we may ask for enough information to confirm the request is yours. Messages you send us can remain in our support inbox until you ask us to delete them.

What a request costs

Nothing. We may charge a reasonable fee, or decline to act, only where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive - the same thing asked over and over is the example the law gives - and we tell you which it is and why.

Questions about your requests

How do I make a request?

Write to support@kazavpn.com and say what you want in your own words. You do not need to name a law.

How long will it take?

We answer within one month. A complex request can take up to two more months, and we tell you why within the first.

Does a request cost anything?

No. We may charge a fee or refuse only if a request is clearly unfounded or excessive, and we tell you why.

Can I simply delete my account?

Yes, from your account page, without waiting for an answer to any request. The Delete account page says what goes and what stays.

What if I no longer use the email on my account?

Write from the address you have and explain that in your message. We may ask for enough to confirm the request is yours.
